The village of Espira de L’Agly sits near the Mediterranean at the eastern edge of the Agly Valley, where the Dauré family resides. Fourth-generation grower François-Xavier Dauré trained under Tom Lubbe at Matassa before converting his family’s vines to organic farming. Working tirelessly, often overnight, he earned the nickname “Lampyre,” meaning firefly in French. Today, his Domaine des Lampyres is celebrated for producing some of the most vibrant wines in Roussillon.-
